GP Training Day on opiates and pain management 17/11/05 for West London general Practitioners
Dr Jenner presented a lecture on Basic Pain Management: Definition and Conditions at a GP study day organised by the local Primary Care Trust General Practice Medical Education Study Day on 17/11/06, in Central London.
The lecture was followed by an interactive workshop where the 30 GPs were divided into smaller groups and given problems to solve as a team, specifically relating to the problems surrounding the prescribing of controlled drugs (opiates or morphine like drugs) in primary care and some of the specific problems in the prescribing of controlled drugs (opiates) to those patients who have an underlying problem with dependence to controlled drugs BUT who require opiates and other analgesics for their optimal pain management.
The day was closed with a fully interactive discussion and a prize for the best team effort.
