Pain Management on the HCA GP Study Day at the Royal College of Physicians, 14th October 2006

HCA is an International group that own six of the premier private hospital facilities in London.

These hospitals include: The Princess Grace Hospital, The Wellington Hospital, London Bridge Hospital, The Lister Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic and The Portland Hospital.

Every year, HCA invite a large group of General Practitioners to a GP Study Day, incorporating workshops run by Consultants in different clinical specialties, from local London Teaching hospitals.

On 14th October 2006, Mr Mo Akmal and Dr Christopher Jenner headed the section on Spinal Orthopaedic Surgery and Pain Management.

Topics covered in Pain Management included the latest information surrounding the use of anti-inflammatory medication and the role of strong opioids (morphine like drugs) in the management of non-malignant pain.
