Geraldine Rabone is Practice Manager of London Pain Consultants.
Following a career working for the Military in Germany, Geraldine's NHS career began some 10 years ago when she took up her first post at her local NHS Trust.
This was quickly followed by promotion to Medical Secretary where Geraldine supported a busy Consultant in his NHS and private work.
Two years later, Geraldine was again promoted and took on the role of Senior Secretary when she became responsible for a very busy team of admin and clerical staff and their workloads. Following this, Geraldine accepted the position of Admin and Clerical Services Manager.
During this post she was asked to also take on the admin and clerical team of another department which had major backlog issues. This resulted in further promotion to Admin Services Manager.
Geraldine received recognition from the Trust for an introductory booklet she published for new Doctors/Consultants arriving on the Cardiac Unit.
She was a member of the Trust Working Group which set out to employ trainee medical secretaries and helped establish a 3 year training programme in conjunction with the local College.
Geraldine also became involved in many decision making groups and managed budgets, waiting list targets and direct booking procedures.
More recently, Geraldine was involved in the Job Description and Personal Specification criteria for Admin and Clerical staff in relation to Agenda for Change.
In July 2005, Geraldine left the NHS to establish Satellite Sec, which specialises in remote practice management and secretarial services to the private and public health sectors.
